How to Overcome Writer’s Block

It’s funny how easily writer’s block can develop. It can also have diverse origins. Look at me now, for instance: I have had many ideas for topics to write about and ways of approaching new texts, but I haven’t written a single word in the last three days. It’s not a long time, but now I feel stuck in a bottleneck: many options, all waiting for me to pick one and write. Only: which one? It’s weird, but I get anxious, and that anxiety blocks me; feeling blocked makes me more nervous, and on and on.

It’s a block that can only be solved by writing. Just take a blank piece of paper (or screen, in this case) and put some action into it, meaning start writing anything that comes to mind. The easier choice may be to write a couple of blog paragraphs about writer’s block, which is the big concern here, and how to overcome it. After doing that, hopefully, it will get easier to pick another topic and get the show going.
