Podcasting

I stumbled upon Podcasting 101, a straightforward guide that will help anyone who wants to create a podcast but doesn’t know how to get started.

There are some basics that everyone will need in order to launch a podcast. There is a very low barrier to entry when launching a podcast, and you likely have many of the tools you need already.

I’ve been interested in podcasts for about 20 years, since the origins of Odeo. I was and still am an avid listener. I published a note about the format in 2007 and even played with the idea of creating one myself several times. I’ve recorded many test episodes over the years, the last of which was on this website only a few months ago (now unpublished). You could also find a few public recordings that resemble a podcast if you looked for them, although, in all honesty, I wouldn’t call them that. Ultimately, I’ve never really devoted to it, so I have no podcast to brag about.

The reasons I’ve never fulfilled this aspiration are not covered in the article I linked above, but I’m glad I discovered it because it made me think again about it and, for a moment, lit a little spark in me.
